Yorkshire Croquet Federation

The Federation is an association of clubs throughout Yorkshire.  Our aim is to promote croquet in this area by:-

  • helping the development of new and existing clubs
  • providing coaching support to affiliated clubs and their members
  • organising leagues and tournaments

Membership is £5 a year and representatives of member clubs are encouraged to attend our AGM which is usually held in February each year.

Our chair at the moment is Anna Giraud and here is short statement from her saying what the role entails:-

“The Chairman of the Federation, with the Secretary, calls meetings of the Federation as necessary, and runs these meetings. I also like to act as liaison between the Clubs and players in the Federation and the Croquet Association, even for those Federation Clubs not affiliated with the CA. At present I am also your representative on the CA Council and attend the CA Coaching Committee.”

Yorkshire Leagues

From 2012 Neil Stevens looks after league fixtures and results.  Do contact him if you would like your club to join one of the golf or association leagues.

He can be contacted via leagues@yorkshirecroquet.org.uk

Club Development

Julian Tonks is the Development Officer at the moment and he describes what he does in the statement below:-

”The Development Officer is responsible for advising existing clubs who wish to secure a grant to improve or extend their existing facilities.  I will be very pleased to offer advice to any group thinking about setting up a new croquet club.

The Federation has equipment which can be lent on a short term basis to a group wishing to see if they can form a club

The Croquet Association will  lend equipment on a longer term basis once a club is set up and joins the Association”
